Classification of radial piston hydraulic motor

2024-04-25

radial piston hydraulic motor is a hydraulic transmission device, mainly composed of pistons, crankshaft, connecting rods, cylinders, oil pumps, etc. By directing the motion of pistons inserting and retracting in cylinders, hydraulic energy is converted into mechanical energy, thereby driving the output shaft to rotate. It is commonly used in industrial machinery, heavy machinery, ships, automobiles, and other fields.

radial piston hydraulic motor can be classified according to the different arrangements of pistons. There are mainly three types:

Single-row radial piston hydraulic motor: Pistons are arranged only along one circular path, which is often used in low-speed and high-torque applications, such as construction machinery and mining machinery.

Multi-row radial piston hydraulic motor: Pistons are arranged along multiple circular paths, which are often used in high-speed and low-torque applications, such as centrifugal pumps and ships. They can be further divided into two types of arrangements: concentric circle arrangement and helical arrangement.

Concentric circle arrangement: Pistons are arranged along concentric circles, which have a large load-bearing capacity but a large overall size.

Helical arrangement: Pistons are arranged in a helical shape, which can reduce the impact on hydraulic components, reduce noise, and vibration.

Swash plate piston hydraulic motor: Pistons are tilted with the swash plate, which changes the contact position between the piston and the swash plate by adjusting the contact area and angle of the piston, thereby changing the output torque and speed. They are often used in high-efficiency and medium-high-speed applications, such as automobiles and wind power.
